Intermediate to Advanced

Paintings that work do so because they hold a visual purpose.  Shape, line, value, color, texture, and edges are elements that are apart of the subject that we are painting and they also help to support a greater visual statement.  The goal of this class is to get you to see the world around you a little differently and to give you a dialog that should bring a visual meaning and reason for your work.

This class will focus on the founding visual principles from daily lectures, painting, and afternoon critiques.  We will paint from the model and then paint plein air in urban and rural settings.  There will be a demonstration on the first and third day of the class.  We will be doing some quick sketches and also longer sessions on location and in the studio.  Please bring lots of small 6x8 panels for small sketches as well as larger panels in any size you like.  You can refer to my supply list.
